The end of summer is nearing and fall, my favorite season, is just around the corner. I found a few cool things to do this weekend to get you pumped for cool air, all things pumpkin, and bonfires.
Zip Zone has an event called Full Moon Zip Tour. You get to zipline in the dark with the moon being your only light. This sounds amazing to me and hopefully sounds amazing to you, too. Some information to consider when signing up:
Weight restrictions: at least 50 lbs. but no more than 270 lbs.
The minimum age is 7 years old.
Guests should be prepared for some light physical activity. Tours include climbing stairs, crossing bridges and walking short distance over uneven terrain.
Tours are not recommended for anyone who may have a heart condition, neck/back issues, or other medical concerns.
Not recommended for pregnant women.
Hocking Hills Adventures has a Romantic Moonlight Tour with the Hocking Valley Canoe Livery. “Experience the Hocking River as it quietly settles in for the night. The full moon shines bright to lead the way; but do not only use your sense of sight. Let your other senses guide as you will find something surreal about the water, the trees and the surrounding wildlife.” September 6th is the last day for the moonlight tour.
This evening promises to be one of relaxation, fun and entertainment. The trip starts at sunset and concludes at the canoe livery, where your car is parked. The fun continues all night, live music is scheduled following the paddle. Wine is provided during the bonfire along with an old fashioned marshmallow roast.
Cost is $45 per canoe.
Lorena Sternwheeler Twilight Cruise
You may have to travel a little ways for this one, but it will be worth it. Lorena Sternwheerler, a Muskingum County treasure, travels up the Muskingum River Water Trail. It offers a relaxed and pleasant ride through wide waters passing scenic woodlands.
Cost: $4.00 to $8.00
