Around Columbus

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, as the weather was just spectacular. Maybe you had some friends over for a grill session. Maybe you made your way down to The Shoe to see The Ohio State Buckeyes take on The Ohio State Buckeyes in the annual spring football game. Or maybe if you’re like me, you took the chickens and ducks out of your garage, put them in the yard, watched The Masters (congrats to Bubba Watson on winning his 2nd Masters in 3 years) outside and then ended it by playing kickball with the neighborhood kids. Whatever you did, I hope it was a blast.

Speaking of golf, the weather is finally beginning to turn, which means that patrons of the game will surely be hitting the links soon. I’m going to try and compile a list of some great golf courses around the capital city that are both fun and affordable. I know I would’ve liked to know that even though Phoenix is located on a land fill, it’s still an absolutely awesome course, and it has a great view of the Columbus skyline. So watch for our course list coming soon.

Trevor ThompsonThad Adds One More

Thad Matta added another player to his roster. Trevor Thompson, a Virginia Tech transfer will bring his 6’11 frame to Columbus. Though, as of now, he will have to sit out a year per the NCAA, it does fill the void that will be left by Amir Williams, Trey McDonald, and Anthony Lee (Temple transfer) when they depart after next season. My bet is Matta was none to pleased with his front court this season and does not want another year like this in the future.

New Zoo

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium unveiled plans for a new downtown attraction. The proposed plan would be a multilevel attraction that would take attendees through a rainforest setting. Columbus Underground has the whole story, and it looks to be a pretty awesome idea, that hopefully will come to fruition sometime in the near future.
