Happy Martin Luther King Day to all of our readers out there. We hope you’re either enjoying a well deserved day off, or just having a fantastic day at work, and not reading those text messages from your friends drinking daiquiris at home. It would appear that more cold weather is on the way this week, so we hope this Monday article will bring joy and warmth to your week.
Improve Your Home Values
Houselogic.com released a “9 surprising things to add value to your home” list and the title does the article justice. While some are pretty obvious — I would say that having water/surf near your home would pretty obviously increase its value — there are some that are quite surprising in their added value to a home (proximity to Walmart anyone?). In addition, the simple addition of trees to your landscaping is said to add as much as 5% to your home’s value. The other thing of note is Solar photovoltaic systems adding value as well as saving home owners money. The U.S. is a little behind Europe in terms of accessibility to Solar PV systems, but it’s rumored in the next few years Ikea will bring their own version of affordable Solar PV systems to the U.S.
Ohio State Coaching Shuffle
Most have already heard the news that Urban Meyer has added two new faces to his staff. Larry Johnson Sr. and Chris Ash will be added to the defensive side of the ball. Johnson will take over Mike Vrabel’s vacated position as the defensive line coach and will serve as assistant head coach. Chris Ash will take over Everett Wither’s position as the defensive backs coach, and also serve as the co-defensive coordinator. Larry Johnson Sr. is a huge hire as he spent 14 years as Penn State’s defensive line coach, pumping out players like Courtney Brown and Tamba Hali. Chris Ash will most certainly take on the task of fixing Ohio State’s lackluster secondary, and hopefully he will prevail. Both are welcomed additions on the defensive side of the ball and will certainly help this team in the future.
