It’s That Time of Year Again…

With the holidays upon us it’s the time of year when our employer throws us a holiday party.  While it’s great to mingle with coworkers in a more relaxed atmosphere, there are still rules to follow.  Below is a list found on Yahoo of things NOT to do at “the company Christmas party”.  The link to the full article is below.

Don’t arrive late – have a chance to chat with your boss and other executives before the party is in full swing.  You may not have a chance later.

Don’t be a wallflower – Branch out and introduce yourself to others in the company.  You can talk to your cubicle neighbor everyday.

Don’t lose control – Watch the alcohol consumption!  Even though it’s a party, it’s a company party and there are people watching.  One or two drinks is acceptable.

Don’t show up the boss – If you’re talking to your boss about something you know more about than him/her, don’t let her know.

Don’t tell racy jokes – Your brand of humor may not mesh with other people’s brand of humor.  The office party is not one to repeat such jokes.
